In order to increase welfare conditions across the globe, the goal of World Animal Day is to lift the status of animals. The animal welfare movement has united by creating the celebration of World Animal Day. It has mobilised into a unified force to make the planet a better place for all animals.
World Animal Day was started by Heinrich Zimmermann, a cynologist. Over 5,000 people attended the first event of Animal Welfare. People originally planned the event for 4 October to coincide with the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the ecological patron saint, but on that day the venue was not open. For the first time, in 1929, the occurrence had moved to 4th Oct. Initially, only in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Czechoslovakia did this event to get success. Zimmermann worked diligently to support World Animal Day last year. Finally, his plan to make 4 October World Animal Day universal unanimously approved and adopted as a resolution in May 1931. It has passed at the of the International Animal Welfare Congress in Florence in Italy.

World Animal Welfare Day seeks to raise the quality of animal welfare worldwide; by promoting and involving people and organisations that love and care for animals. We also know it as the “Day of Animal Lovers.” While it is a wonderful way to unite the worldwide animal welfare movement; welcoming all animals and each country’s particular needs, several variables contribute to this day’s roots.
