During the Navratri season this year, major car companies Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), Hyundai and Tata Motors witnessed higher retail sales over this festive season as compared to last year. It rises with pent-up demand from prior weeks boosting the rapid offtake.

The nation’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) accounted for around 27% hike in retail sales at close to 96,700 units during the Navratri time this year.

Also, Hyundai Motor India stated it retailed 26,068 units during the season. It is a clear rise of 28% over the last year.

Tata Motors sold 10,887 units throughout the Navratri interval this year. It’s a straightaway increase of 90% over 5,725 units last year.

Opinions of Marketing Heads:

MSI Executive Director for Sales and Marketing Shashank Srivastava stated, their total retail sales had been within the range of 96,700 units this year which is greater than last year. He replied with this remark when asked about sales during the Navratri period.

Marketing Head of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Business Unit Mr. Vivek Srivatsa stated, it is significant that regardless of the downturn brought on by the pandemic; the firm continued to witness sturdy demand and growth in bookings for all new range of demanding vehicles and UVs. He said, their cars are being admired for finest in class design, driving dynamics and safety features.

Festive Benefit to other Automotive Firms:

Over the ten-day span (including Dussehra), Kia Motors, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and Honda Cars India have recorded good sales revenue. The Dussehra day recognized as auspicious for acquiring new things and land properties.

Kia Motors India declared it marked a massive 224% boost in retail sales during the ten-day spell at 11,640 units.

TKM also reported robust offtakes throughout the 10 day Navratri season and Dussehra festival. Similarly, M&M stated its deliveries this year throughout the interval has risen than last year for SUVs. In fact, it also includes Small Commercial Vehicles (SCVs). In addition, Honda Cars India stated it noted a 10% enhancement in retail gross sales during this auspicious time.
