Sure, absolutely. The new-gen Thar is feeling like a complete model. It’s bigger, comes full of features and the best part, Now it’s available with an optional automatic transmission and petrol engine! That makes the Thar all the more attractive to both the heart and the head.
The upcoming Mahindra Thar (2020) will come in two variants: AX series and LX series. The more adventure-oriented version of the AX series, while the more tarmac-oriented model of the LX series. Mahindra has confirmed that on October 2nd, the all-new Thar will go on sale in the Indian market, with official bookings being said to start on the same date itself.
Engine Options in New Thar:
The latest Thar (2020) will come in a choice of two engine options. It includes a T-GDi mStallion 2.0-liter petrol engine and a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine. The petrol unit generates peak torque of 150bhp and 320Nm while the diesel engine churns out torque of 130bhp and 300Nm. All engines come with either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission with a six-speed torque-converter.
The new Thar carries the same outline as its previous version but it comes with a number of updates. Those updates are making the SUV feel more new and luxurious than ever before. Many of the changes will include a redesigned front fascia with a new grille, headlamps, front bumper scuff plates, new 18-inch wheels and new taillights. For the first time , the new Thar features the option to either have a hard-top, an optional soft-top or a first-in-class convertible top.
The new Mahindra Thar 2020 cabin now comes packed with features and equipments. This includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering controls, cruise control, 4×4 transverse 4×4 manual shift-on-the-fly case, roof-mounted speakers and much more.
Seating configuration updates
In fact, the new Thar also comes with two seating configurations. It includes either four front-facing or two front-facing seats and four side-facing seats depending on the selected model.
Once launched in India the all-new Mahindra Thar will be available in six color options: Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Aquamarine, Napoli Black, Rocky Beige and Galaxy Grey.
