Indo-China Border Clashes: Both Nations Armies within Gunfire Range at Spanggur Gap

In the southern part of Pangong Tso in the east, China has mobilized 1000s of soldiers, tanks, and heavy machine guns. In fact, with this action the Chinese army forces came within the Indian Army shooting range near to the Spanggur Gap.

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) made provocative army deployments at Spanggur Gap. This area is between Gurung Hill and Magar Hill. However, Indian soldiers taken tactical heights on the ridgeline near the southern bank of Pangong Tso close to Chushul at the LAC since 30th Aug.

Indian Army on High Alert

Army officials have put the Indian Army on high alert. This alert has issued in wake of the Chinese army’s offensive growth along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

A ministry official has stated that looking at the Chinese PLA troop and weapons mobilisation; the Indian Army too made mirror deployments at Spanggur Gap. Also, this action from Chinese PLA has put both the nation’s troops and weapons within gunfire range.

Further, sources stated, China has deployed its militia squads to reinforce the border. It also stated that they have done this to stabilise the area of Tibet. In fact, China have tasked them for make a try to force out the Indian Army fighters from the tactical heights.

However, the militia is an irregular mix of hikers, boxers, members of native combat clubs and others. They set up many of the members from the local inmates. The officer also pointed out that Chinese militia also conducts impartial activities. In fact, it also seen that they are giving fight assist and manpower revival to the PLA.

Tendency of Chinese troops, vehicles and new defence actions of them are obvious within the north, south banks of Pangong Lake. In fact, in some regions heavily armed troops are in tight proximity. Indian Army has reiterated that the forces will reciprocate; if Chinese troops make provocative army strikes. Also, in reply to China’s actions, Indian troops also have taken up some heights overlooking their positions.

India-China Government Discussions

To de-intensify the state of affairs, armies of India and China are having interaction every day. In fact, both the nations are engaged in a 4 months long standoff at the LAC in eastern Ladakh. Regardless of several levels of discussion, there has been no breakthrough, and the standoff continues.

China Releases 5 Missing Youths

Ten days after they drifted across the border during a tour to hunt and also to collect medicinal herbs; Chinese authorities have handed over the 5 youths from Arunachal Pradesh back to India on Saturday, Indian Army officers confirmed.

Lieutenant Colonel Harsh Vardhan Pande of PRO (Defence) based at Tezpur in Assam set forth in a release. He stated that Indian Army took over all 5 people at Kibithu on 12th Sept 2020 (today) after finishing all vital formalities. He also added, those men will now put in quarantine for 14 days to comply with the Covid-19 security rules. Afterwards the army will hand over them to their relatives.
