India Will be the Key Host of T20 World Cup Next Year, ICC Confirms

India keeps the rights to have the 2021 T20 World Cup, while the 2022 edition will be in Australia. World T20 would have taken place in Australia from 18 October this year; but now it has postponed because of the Covid-19 epidemic. ICC has cancelled the Women’s ODI World Cup 2021, now the tournament will be in New Zealand from 6th February to 7th March in 2022.

According to BCCI’s decision, India will host the T20 World Cup of 2021. While Australia will stage the next edition of the event in 2022. The decision in this issue has taken in the meeting of the BCCI and Cricket Australia (CA) with Chief International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday.

The ICC stated that he ICC affirms today that the T20 World Cup, delayed because of the corona virus spread, will now take place in Australia in 2022. The T20 World Cup 2021 in India will accord to the pre-planned timetable.

ICC will start the 2021 T20 World Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. While the 2022 T20 World Cup will occur in Australia. However, the ICC has cancelled the Women’s ODI World Cup 2021. Now the tournament will gets started from 6 February to 7 March in 2022 in New Zealand.

ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said that now they have total clearness on the future of ICC events. However, empowering all of ICC Members to focus on the rescheduling of lost international and domestic cricket. In reality, as expected, the men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will schedule to play in India and it will host the 2022 edition in Australia.

The ICC will start the T20 World Cup in October-November next year in India. The final of the tournament is on 14th November. Also, they will start the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia during October-November, while the final of that event will be on November 13th.
