In Haryana, the families of 100s of freedom fighters don’t even know their ancestors had ever fought for freedom. In fact, they didn’t know that their formers have shed their blood for freedom. The names of 450 knights of Haryana have come out who were fighters of Azad Hind Fauj. The record of all these have sent to Haryana Freedom Fighters Samman Samiti. It is subordinate to the state government, so they can give to their families.

Most Haryana people know only that their ancestors once were part of the British Army. The British forces sent him on various fronts and after that they never returned. They are unaware that their ancestors were taking up arms against the British at the call of Subhash Chandra Bose. They became soldiers of the ‘Azad Hind Fauj’ to liberate their country.

Azad Hind Fauj’s officers kept record of every soldier

The officers of ‘Azad Hind Fauj’ named their various force dealing to their territories. They kept the record of every soldier of this force. This record of soldiers was part of personal documents of Subhash Chandra Bose. For several decades after independence, the ministry kept these documents private.

Now all the documents of Bose have made public. Also, all the Bose soldiers’ records are now public handy with the Department of National Archives. Residents of Dani Phogat village in Charkhidadari have digging for the last seven years. Mr. Bhagwan’s father Mr. Ramsingh Phogat was an unknown soldier of Azad Hind Fauj.

The British had declared these soldiers as rebels

Mr. Bhagwan Phogat said that he kept going to the Army Building, the Department of Defense, several times. He continued to visit the Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Archives. He saw that many soldiers of the Azad Hind Army belonged to Haryana. Also, those who are still undisclosed and it hides those names in the files.

He said that in those days, Bose had so much influence. Many British army soldiers of united Punjab revolted and went to Azad Hind Army. The British considered him a rebel. It was after the Azad Hind Fauj that many of the soldiers who rebelled against the British returned. However, many become martyred while fighting the British on various strikes.

According to him, so far, he has found the record of 450 anonymous soldiers. He sent them to Haryana Freedom Fighters Samman Samiti through District Deputy Commissioner Rewari. He insisted to Haryana’s chief minister, Manohar Lal, to name those anonymous troops. Also provide dependent children of these militants even with pension facilities.
