Global Covid-19 Statistics: Cases Crossed Over 3 Crore Mark

The total number of covid-19 cases around the world on Thursday exceeded the 30 million (3 Crore) mark as per the statistics data. The John Hopkins University continually keeps track of covid cases around the world. Since this deadly disease was 1st noticed in China’s Wuhan city late last year; Over 944,600 deaths occurred across the globe.

The US accounted for the highest number of infections and deaths worldwide. The country has reported over 68.25 lakh covid cases and also more than 2.1 lakh deaths, respectively. The World Health Organization (WHO), however, continue to insist that there is still hope to conquer the epidemic.

India ranks second in cases at 5,115,893, whereas the nation’s death toll is now 83,230. According to data provided by Johns Hopkins University, India has a mortality rate of 1.6%, far more below than the USA’s 3%. Also, China is having a death rate of 5.2%. Britain has a mortality rate of 11.2%, which is 3rd highest behind Italy’s 12.3%. In fact, Yemen has almost 30 percent dying rate which ranks them top on this list.

Corona Vaccine Update: –

Researchers and scientists are striving to develop a vaccine against Covid-19, with the WHO now tracking over 190 frontrunner vaccines. In fact, vaccines require years of research and extra time to produce on a global level, but scientists hope to build up a cure against covid-19 within 12 to 18 months.

Current Vaccine Progress:

It joins almost 200 clinical research firms in forming a corona vaccine. However, hardly any cure from all these 200 companies has granted by the WHO till this time. In fact, as scientists around the world are trying hard to make it; there is vital progress in clinical research. In fact, 9 vaccines are undergoing large-scale human trials in 3rd Phase. In addition, 18 trials of vaccines are ongoing in Phase 2 whilst also 29 firms tests are under Phase 1. Also, there are over 140 firms trying to make a vaccine for covid patients. These 140 firms are going through their pre-clinical trials till this stage.
